Squiggle's native library now builds into your app against your own React Native and NitroModules, so a Debug build links on React Native 0.88, where 0.5.1 failed with undefined JSI symbols. The SDK works with any react-native-nitro-modules from 0.35, instead of only 0.37.

If you stayed on 0.5.0 because your app is on React Native 0.83 or older (Expo SDK 54 included), you can update: keep the Nitro version your app has, or use 0.36.5 if you have none. After updating, reinstall your pods.

  • Newthe SDK works with any react-native-nitro-modules from 0.35, and pod install stops with the version it found if your app's is older
  • Newsquiggle init keeps your app's Nitro when it's 0.35 or newer, and otherwise adds the newest one that builds on your React Native: 0.37.1 on React Native 0.84 or newer, 0.36.5 on 0.83 or older
